Optimisation of pelvic imaging radiography protocols in plain radiology: a scoping review

Introduction: The purpose of this work is to explore which studies have been performed in the field radiation dose reduction pelvic x-ray imaging and determine optimization techniques for reduction.Materials methods: A scoping review was by using databases Science Direct, PubMed, EBSCO Host Springer Link. keywords used were "radiography", "dose reduction", "pelvis" "pelvic". Exclusion criteria "CT" "MRI".Results: 15 scientific articles that analyse current impacts selected institutions or regions reviewed as a starting point optimise protocols, establish diagnostic reference levels, suggest different measures reduction. Studies use digital image receptor, adaptation exposure parameters; they also out air gap instead radiographic grid investigate usefulness gonad protection. difference noticed developing countries focus more on establishment DRLs following guidelines provided other rather than new optimisation techniques.Conclusion: must be with low impact still doesn't compromise value image, can achieved ALARA principle certain adjustments, suggested considered studies, especially parameters. national local levels required.
